VUDU APPOINTS ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY VETERAN
MARK JUNG AS CEO
SANTA CLARA, CA — October 18, 2007 - VUDU, the company that brings instant access to video-based content to the living room, today announced the appointment of Mark Jung to Chief Executive Officer and board member. In this new role, Jung will set the company's strategic and operational goals as the company enters into a phase of rapid expansion.
"Mark's background in building successful online consumer media businesses makes him the ideal person to lead VUDU as we set out to revolutionize the home viewing experience," said Alain Rossman, VUDU Chairman and co-founder. Jung comes to VUDU with 20 years of leadership in the technology industry with the last several years deep in the convergence of media and technology. He was the co-founder and CEO of IGN Entertainment, a leading Internet media and services company for video gaming and other forms of digital entertainment. Founded in 1999, Mark led IGN from a small start-up to an entertainment powerhouse with millions of users and a strong subscription business. In October 2005, Mark led IGN's sale to News Corp., the parent company of Fox Interactive Media.
Subsequent to the acquisition, Jung served as Chief Operating Officer of Fox Interactive Media where he was responsible for all of its Internet properties including MySpace, IGN Entertainment, FoxSports.com, AmericanIdol.com, and Scout Media.
Jung was also co-founder and CEO of Worldtalk Corporation, an Internet security company that he took public in 1996 and that has since merged with Tumbleweed Communications.
