1959 Cuba, just before the revolution. Dapes, a British mercenary, is in Cuba to train the Batistas who are under attack from Castro's revolutionary forces. As tensions build, he finds a few precious moments to renew his old romance with Alexandra Pulido. The two old flames become caught up in the turbulence of Cuba's revolution.
