A millionaire playboy (Pierce Brosnan) who, bored with the lack of challenge in his privileged life, steals a Cezanne from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He engages in a game of intellectual cat-and-mouse with the brilliant insurance investigator (Rene Russo) who suspects him. Their gamesmanship, however, builds into a fiery romance that makes his crime, and her work, far more complicated than either anticipated.
